Setting the Standard
For the past 40 years, Musicfest Canada has been a driving force in music education throughout Canada. Our affiliated festivals have set the standard for music festivals. Thanks to the commitment of our many volunteers, MusicFest Canada has welcomed and enjoyed the music of thousands of talented young performers, many of which have continued to pursue careers in music. With groups participating regionally and nationally from across the country as well as from the United States, Musicfest Canada is truly an international event reflecting the mosaic of Canadian culture.
Our regional and national festivals are organized and staffed by volunteers. Without these talented and dedicated volunteers, MusicFest would not exist. Their service is invaluable — not only for the future of music education, but for the future of Canada. MusicFest Canada provides an opportunity for volunteers from coast to coast to share with one another. Each volunteer brings his or her special skills to the Festival and enjoys the opportunity of learning from each other. The volunteers and the participants all benefit from this experience.
It is my pleasure to extend an invitation for you to join our diverse and dynamic team for the 40th annual MusicFest Canada, "The Nationals" being hosted by the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, May, 2012. I'm sure it will prove to be an unforgettable experience.
